Stars of the Future

Stars of the Future is a screening for all children ages 3½ to 4 years old who live in the South East Health Region.  Stars of the Future allows parents to see how their preschool-aged children are doing in the areas of hearing, speech, language ability, fine and gross motor development in preparation for starting school. The Stars of the Future program is offered FREE of charge every spring and fall. Stars of the Future is offered in English. The French language En chemin pour demain takes place in March & April each year.

If you have a child between the ages of 3 ½ and 4 years old, you will be sent an invitation to meet with several health professionals (public health nurses, speech-language pathologists, physiotherapists and occupational therapists). The one-hour appointment consists of checking each child’s hearing, speech and language development as well as their physical development. If any concerns are identified, the child will be referred for follow-up through the Children’s Therapy Initiative (CTI) of Southern Health- Santé Sud.

For more information or to see if your child is eligible to attend the next screening, please call Andrea at 204-346-6698 or email
